Q: Can the Arson kit help my fuel mileage?
A: Yes, it absolutely can! What
the kit does is to help with injection atomization, higher rail pressure and quicker pressure rise, increases atomization
of fuel delivered during the combustion process. This makes the fuel burn quicker and more completely, increasing efficiency.
Q: How do I know when I need a higher flowing CP3?
A: Additional flow capabilities help all applications,
including completely stock trucks. Added flow equals quicker rail pressure ramp up rates. The additional pressure increases
fuel atomization, less smoke, better turbo response and increased fuel mileage and power, are all realized.
Q:
How do I determine which level of CP3 is needed?
A: As a general rule of thumb, 1 LPH in flow is roughly equal
to 3 RWHP. Of course this is only used for estimation purposes. A stock CP3 in good condition, on avearge flows 175 LPH, the
Arson kit will increase flow to as much 208 LPH, The Avenger is 228 LPH and the Dragonslayer is 270 LPH. Multiplying these
numbers by 3, will give you an indication of attainable power levels*.
Please understand these numbers are used for approximation purposes only, more as well as less
power has been attained with these flow rates
Q: How much supply pressure
can my CP3 handle?
A: The CP3 can handle as much as 100 PSI, inlet pressure. Our testing has shown that 45 PSI
@ WOT offers an increase in flow from the CP3. As expected, overall life is also increased with higher supply pressures. Higher
pressures reduce cavitation, help with reducing wear and increase output.
Q: Do higher flowing CP3's wear out
sooner?
A: Not necessarily, the pump is designed to make pressure. Generally what leads to shortened pump life
is dirty fuel, water contamination and low supply pressures. A pump capable of supplying higher rail pressures can wear out
sooner. Obviously a shorter life from the CP3 and injectors can be expected, if you are running sustained high rail pressures
at or above 18,000 PSI for extended periods. During times when maximum power is required, you want all the rail pressure you
can get. You don't want to be cruising down the road at 23,000 PSI!
Q: Can my existing CP3 be upgraded? A: Yes, the foundation of any pump modifications begins with the Arson kit. The kit addresses the flow of fuel
into, through and out of the CP3. The kit is easily installed with hand tools, with the pump still on the truck. From there,
you can remove and send in your pump for the next level of modification. Some pumps can be upgraded all the way to Dragonslayer
status, it has to be a low mileage pump with no signs of wear whatsoever. We have successfully upgraded pumps with as much
as 25,000 miles, with no issues. Your pump would need to qualify for the upgrade.
Q: Why should I consider your
Dragonslayer instead of dual CP3's
A: For some applications, there is no substitute for dual CP3's. We
do sell dual kits as well. If you weigh the differences, $1800.00 for the kit without the pump, $695.00/$300.00 core for a
new CP3. Sure you might find a good used one, most likely NOT! Add in all the time to install the kit, and hope it works as
it should. The cost of the Dragonslayer, and the fact that it is within 25% of the output of dual CP3's, it looks pretty
good. The price of $1695.00 with core is over $1,000.00 less than the dual kit. Some sanctioning bodies will not allow
dual CP3's in some levels, also some require a stock type CP3, no Duramax CP3 on the Cummins as well. For all these instances,
the Dragonslayer is the best choice.
Q: What about the 6.7 pumps, do you offer an Arson kit for those?
A: The 6.7 and LBZ/LMM pumps are already designed to offer more flow than the typical CP3. They incorporate a higher flowing
FCA, a ported gear pump and larger diameter plungers. They can be modified above their current capabilities, the level 3 modifications
really make these the highest performing CP3's available.
